Named for the historic Portuguese breed, Lusitano captures a foal only two weeks old. Descended from stock once bred for war—valued for stamina and endurance—the breed carries centuries of tradition, yet here its legacy is seen at its most fragile stage.

The foal’s proportions are marked by awkwardness: hind legs too long, neck still short, body growing at uneven speeds. In bronze, this transitory form becomes a study in becoming—an image of vulnerability and promise, where the weight of lineage meets the uncertainty of growth.
